Emma is a Chicago native, and has never dreamed of going anywhere else. She grew up in a fairly stable, normal family, with two parents and four brothers. Growing up with boys made her notably sarcastic, and far from a push over. After high school she started taking community classes at college, not quite sure what to do with her life. It was there she met and fell in love with Jeremy Mills, and the two quickly went from dating to married. Just after the birth of their son, Dean, Emma’s father died from a massive heart attack. With none of her brothers wanting to step up to the plate and inherit the pub her father had owned since before they were born, she took it with open arms. It was only several years after that when Jeremy was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After years of a long battle with it all, his body had finally had enough and he passed away in 2007.
It was at that point in her life, that Emma snapped and became completely drenched in her bar and alcohol. Her twelve year old son took it even harder, and began acting out in school and being gone for days at a time. Call it fate or simple economics, but before Emma knew it the bar was losing customers and a business deal landed on her desk. Sylvester Rosario wanted the pub. Having it open her eyes a bit, Emma quickly got her life back together, including her son’s. The two now run the thriving Goodman’s Pub and treat it as a second home. Meanwhile, Sylvester insists his offer still stands, while Emma refuses it every time. Doing her research she’s found out about the entire war, and even knows several members of both families from earlier in her life. It might be her snarky attitude, or her stubborn willingness but Sylvester Rosario doesn’t scare her in the least. Though the war as a whole does. She doesn’t want to be a part of any of it, and makes sure her son keeps his nose out of it too.
